Upcoming Writing assignment

Class start thinking about what aspect of Mesopotamia you plan do to your short essay on and bring those ideas to class with you on Friday. Remember it will be a 3.5 pg essay on once facet of Mesopotamia you find interesting. The topic you pick will come from the material we've so far discussed here on the blog or in class. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask. I will talk more about the assignment in class tomorrow.

The Code of Hammurabi is the longest surviving text from the Old Babylonian period. Do a web search on the Code of Hammurabi and post here at least two codes/laws that the people of this period had to follow. I look forward to reading your posts.

Compare and Contrast Kings and Presidents: Mesopotamia

What are the differences?  Be prepared to discuss this post in class on Wednesday. Start posting you thoughts here and we can expound on them during our classroom discussion.

Cradle of Life

What a discussion we had in class today! It's amazing how Mesopotamia is tied to our civilization isn't it? Comment on what you found most interesting about our class discussion today. For example, did you find it interesting how Mesopotamia is called the "Cradle of Civilization"? Or possibly that the origins of writing are from this region and time in history? Let's here what intrigued you today? I look forward to reading your posts.
